The launch of Vietsing24h originated from an array of my business trips. At that time, I was a representative of JCU Australia. In every evening, when staying in hotels, I couldn’t stop preoccupying questions of parents from Vietnam, Myanmar,….that I couldn’t meet their needs at that time: “ How can our child pursuit medicine?”, “What we have to do for our child to be admitted by NUS, Nanyang,…?”, “How can our children study abroad when they are high school students?”, “ Who will take responsibility for bringing up when they are far from us?”, and a ton of other questions that made me think over nonstop.
In addition, I was preparing many students for entrance examinations of public schools in Singapore. Many of my students attending my live - online classes successfully overcame those arduous examinations. So, my team made a decision to launch Vietsing24h Company.
Preparation for entrance exams of Public schools in Singapore:
All students sent to Vietsing24h are obliged to take a test which is used to assess students’s capacity in Maths and English. Based on the result of this test, we will design a different curriculum for each student. These curriculums are modified successively during the teaching process in order to be more appropriate with students’s advancement.
Vietsing24h constantly adheres to our teaching motto: “We care, You trust”. This is the reason we never use outsourcing teaching services. Vietsing24h’s teachers are responsible for educating our students on our own. Up to now, I can make sure that this motto is the key to Vietsing24h’s success.
Putting down roots: Vietsing24h firmly sticks to our goals in bringing up children:
1. To achieve study-life balance
2. To grow up and become a truly-educated child: (to love parents and family members, to harmonize with friends, to integrate into society easily, and not to be afraid of challenges in life)
3. To have an obvious career orientation. Vietsing24h expects all graduates will be actively in search of opportunities to work abroad before coming back homeland. This expectation aims to help our students be aware of accumulating experience positively and actively. It has already become our students’s deep conception.
Our homestay was constructed in January 2011. It is separated into 2 parts called Boys’s House and Girls’s House. Located in a vast condominium – Euphony Garden, the homestay of Vietsing24h contains various conveniences for daily life. Located about 20 kilometers to the center of Singapore, so it takes only 30 minutes to get there by MRT. We chose this area with the aim of providing students with not only a green and peaceful space but also a convenient area to stay. Especially, students can join in sport activities every day such as swimming, basketball, badminton, tennis, gym, … and play football at weekends.
Time schedule of Vietsing24h’s students are quite similar to their timetable when still staying with their parents. In the morning, students get up at half-past six to go to school. They will finish all classes in school at 2 or 3 P.M. Occasionally, they can go home more tardily if they have to take a free extra class or take part in extracurricular activities at school. Normally, around 5 P.M, students will play sports in the condo. And after dinner, they have self-study at 8 P.M. Spontaneously, students also make use of this time to ask for help when getting difficulties in study.
We expect that our students can get into the habit of self-study, so we only organize extra classes for students who are not good at English and natural science once a week. In fact, Vietsing24h’s students are excellent at Maths after a period of preparation, so we always take advantages of this in order to encourage those students to participate in international mathematical Olympiad competitions.
Once every three months, students having the outstanding performance at school will be awarded by Ms. May. We also use this result to decide to open extra classes.
Career orientation:
In Singapore, students’s capacity are sorted out early when they start Secondary 3. They solely have subjects which are appropriate for their choice. Taking advantages of being educators having great chance to approach children every single day, we always follow up their growing steps to find out their strengths. Currently, we nonstop figure out demands of society to give them advice in career path.
Living with children every day enables us – educators working in Vietsing24h to have a deeper understanding of our children. Thanks to this, we can support them through teenage crisis. Furthermore, we also place an emphasis on teaching them how to build up good behavior towards family and society. Besides, our students are encouraged to participate in volunteer work organized in Vietnam and Singapore… And WE altogether are moving forward step-by-step.
