Honestly, selecting applicable learning environment for children is never a light piece of work, especially sending them to study abroad at a very young age. Like many other families, we had to spend months preoccupying the best study path for our children, but still remain their childhood, and there were a ton of different reasons making us think over.
Being parents living and working in a far province in Vietnam Central Highlands, our family as well as many other families in this area had intention of finding a boarding school in Saigon for our child when she was a little girl. One day, I ran into an acquaintance, I shared the plan for our daughter’s study path with her. At first, I felt a little bit surprised as she told me stories about children studying abroad since primary and secondary levels. Consequently, a thought flashed through my mind: “why don’t we seek an opportunity for our little girl to study abroad early?”, “Perhaps overseas study would be a great chance for our son?”. On that day, I determined to discuss that plan with my husband.
Nevertheless, when I had come up with this plan, my husband disagreed due to quite reasonable explanations. He said to me he was worried about our son’s safety because she was still at an early age, and if our kid lived in another country, who could we entrust with guarding our son? I entirely understood my husband’s feelings at that time because after all, children are certainly the most valuable asset of any parents. Yet I persuaded him that we were living in a far province and our kid was still studying in a metropolis which is far from her home. Every single day, we heard terrible news of burglaries, kidnapping, and many other crimes, … happening frequently in city life. All of these things did not seem to be safer than risks you had mentioned before in comparison with learning abroad. Moreover, we had been to Singapore together, there was no denial that Singapore was a safe, clean, and active nation and I firmly believed in Singapore’s security. The most vital importance was to find out how Singapore education system was, how our daughter could be admitted to learn in a public school. Eventually, he gave me a nod.
As recommendation of my acquaintance, my husband and I made up our mind to pack our luggage, booked airfares to Singapore and directly met educators of Vietsing24h, Singapore and genned up on Singapore education.
